If one thing is true about creative people, its that the creative mind never rests. In fact, I am surprised my husband hasn’t divorced me yet from all the crazy things my restless mind puts him through. When one owns a home there is always something to do. When a creative person owns a home, it isn’t just ‘complete the task’. Its complete the task in some difficult and obscure way because it looks awesome and unique. Its like creating a piece of art, and we all know how us artists get when we are in the middle of creating. (step back, enter at your own risk, and watch out!) I swear, and many will attest this, I have a furniture problem. I LOVE furniture. Unique furniture. Color, texture, pattern. I get a throw pillow and I’m excited. My best friend will come over my house and ask ‘Okay, what’s different! Show me!’ At least she knows what to expect from me…
Anyway, after reading the lovely and talented Christy Tyler’s blog on branding (https://www.christytylerphotographyblog.com/2011/10/faq-branding.html) I decided to get my butt in high gear and hammer out my style. Truth is I’ve been collaging for years! When I was a kid I would sit on the floor in my room and cut up magazines and paste together posters of all kinds of things. Makeup, clothes, photos of friends, quotes I liked, and on and on. I can’t remember how many I used to have. I’ll have to cruise around my parents house and see if I can find any of them. One of the wonderful things about advancements in technology is that I get to collage now electronically! Way less cutting and mess. Although I am sure I’ll go old school when the kidlets have some art projects.
Very fun to make although there were children screaming from all different directions around me…
