Since I was very young I always created. When I was a child I would sit in my room for hours and collage all kinds of things together from magazines. Who knows what I was making, but I would make poster sized montage and collages of any and all things I could find. I would work outside on the porch and I would work in my room. But there never was a space to create. It never bothered me as much in college because I would just go to the studio at school and work if I needed to. It wasn’t until Peyton and Avery came into our lives that I realized how much I needed a space to create, be creative, and just be.
This has been a long and sometimes agonizing process. From emptying out the entire space to do the floor, to finding a new home for all things children, each step along the way has had its growing pains. I am sure that we aren’t done growing, but we have finally reached a point where we can enjoy it. This could never have happened without my amazing husband and without my cousin Noah. There were many others along the way too – my brother Chris helped move all kinds of things around for us over the years – and nothings has gone unappreciated. Thank you everyone for supporting me. I love you.
I can’t wait to get to work out here.
So here it is. The studio.
I’ve come such a long way since that little girl with the Kellog’s camera. I think this will be the start of something beautiful and exciting.
