I first connected with Melissa + Derek because I worked with her mom, Karen, in Chicopee. Karen had mentioned that Melissa was getting married, Melissa + Derek reached out, and the rest is history! Working with these two from our initial meeting, through their wonderful wedding day, it was just so fun and lighthearted. These two find humor in everything, and clearly bring out the absolute best in one another. And on their wedding day, their joyful energy could be felt all around them.

I love when my couples live close to their family members. It makes it simple when doing prep photos because we can bee bop between both properties with ease. Well, Melissa + Derek  live next door to Karen (Melissa’s mom!) So the girls were over there, and the guys were at Melissa and Derek’s house. It was a rainy day, but no tiny matter of weather would dampen the spirits of this crew! Melissa’s gown was a stunner. Not only did it have buttons the entire way down her back to the hem, but it also had POCKETS!!! A girl after my own heart!!

Melissa + Derek chose Maneeley’s in South Windsor, Connecticut for their wedding. Whats great about that venue is the setting, landscaping, and accessibility for everyone! Everything is a quick walk from a to b which makes it a great option for couples who have a lot of family that may not be able to travel from place to place so easily. The barn feel is so cozy, and has a nice size dance floor big enough to accommodate all guests to dance the night away! These two exchanged sweet nuptials, and listened to speeches from the heart, and even did the Dirty Dancing ‘I’ve had the time of my life’ lift – it was a celebration to remember!!
