As a teacher, you have some days when you get out of your room to grab a bite or say hello to the people you work with, and some days where you just stay in there to get whatever task you need to accomplish. Since my program is relatively new, I don’t really make it out much, but I feel blessed by my 4th floor community. I  am surrounded by instructors who have been helpful, kind, and there for a laugh at the end of the day when you’ve had a rough one. It just so happens that one of those nice people on the 4th floor is Jay. He’s my next door neighbor.

When Jay had asked me if I would like to meet with him and Liz about photographing their wedding, I couldn’t be happier. Maybe it’s the whole WNEC thing – that we hung out at similar places in college, or that we have some similar acquaintances, or teach together. Meeting Liz and Jay was like meeting old friends out for a coffee. Effortless, and fun. I loved hearing the story of how they met, and how Jay got the courage to walk up to Liz that one night in Westfield. I feel so fortunate to be able photograph two people who are so much in love, and tell their story through my lens.
