When Rachel got in touch about photographing her son, Grant for his newborn portraits I was SO excited. I love photographing newborns for a number of reasons; I get to play with the beautiful babies and get my fix (Eric says no more babies for us, lol!), and its a new creative challenge for me. That’s the thing about photography – you never know what to expect of how challenging it will be.

For Grant’s session Rachel and Matt wanted to do some classic shots, and also incorporate some of Matt’s military and firefighter gear into the shoot. I love when clients come to me with creative ideas and props they’d like to incorporate, so I took it and ran with it! Grant was the most wonderful baby during the entire shoot. Slept just about the whole time and made it so easy to set him in the most adorable poses.
