So as part of the Christmas re-do my father (see right with his Clark Griswold sled!) had the brilliant idea to go to our favorite childhood sledding hill. Of course, we all rolled our eyes and thought ‘yeah, okay dad…’ As it turns out we had SUCH a great time. I only got to go down once because like the photographer I am I was having way too much fun shooting! Seeing everyone’s expressions were priceless! I finally feel like I got to ‘unleash the beast’ in my 5D Mark II and see just how many pixels it has. The snow flying through the air on the shots was amazing! It looks like 3D CG Animation! I was so impressed and this fun shoot that has nothing more than personal value to me solidified my upgrade to this camera. On top of that we got to see some kid wipe out going mock 1 down the hill and in true Christmas Vacation style only stopped when a tree broke his speed and hit him right between the legs! I was about 5′ away and that kid couldn’t get up. He almost ran over my nephew on the way down too! Hopefully he’ll pull the brakes next time!
