Maria + Alex had a very specific idea for their son, Alex’s one year birthday session. They wanted to do some family portraits, which, I of course always love, and then do some individual portraits. They also wanted to do a cake smash outdoors with some beautiful scenery in the background. I took them to one of my favorite spots, and boy did Maria come prepared! She had all kinds of wonderful props she had gotten together, a few adorable outfits, a bubble gun, and of course – a cake! I’ve always told Maria that should I need an assistant for children’s portraits she’s the FIRST girl I’d call!
Alex was adorable as ever for his session. He smiled away as we blew bubbles at him and sang his favorite song ‘Wheels on the Bus’. I pretty much melted when Maria put him in suspenders with a hat. I mean, who DOESN’T love a baby with an exposed belly looking like he’s from the 1940’s?! (Just scroll – you’ll see!!) Alex was perfectly complacent in the bronze bucket while we blew bubbles, and loved even more when he got to have some cake. Like most kiddos at their cake smash, he wasn’t exactly sure what to think of it at first. Once he started going though, he got into it – like ALL of it! That blue frosting was no match for those toes!
Here are my favorites from Alex’s adorable First Birthday and Cake Smash session!
Im ao glad I’ve been able to watch you grow little one!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
